9/17 Superintendent's Sunday Message

Good morning!

I want to begin by expressing my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and flexibility during the recent rainstorm and the resulting damage to our city. Your resilience and understanding have been truly remarkable as we navigated through these challenging times.

As we look ahead to the upcoming week, I am pleased to inform you that we will be returning to a regular schedule, providing our students with the stability and routine they need to thrive in their learning environments. However, I would like to draw your attention to an important date on our calendar.

Wednesday, September 20th, has been designated as an early release day for students due to professional development for our educators. Please plan accordingly for your child's early dismissal on this day, and thank you for your understanding as we invest in our teachers' continued growth and development.

Additionally, I am excited to announce the following Open House dates for our schools:

Johnny Appleseeds School (All Grades)

Date: September 19th

Time: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Francis Drake School (All Grades)

Date: September 21st

Time: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Samoset School (All Grades)

Date: September 21st

Time: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Sky View School (Grades 7 & 8)

Date: September 21st

Time: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Our Open House events provide an excellent opportunity for you to meet your child's teachers, explore the school facilities, and gain insights into the curriculum and activities planned for the academic year. We encourage all families to attend and actively engage with our school community during these events.

Once again, thank you for your unwavering support and understanding during the challenges we faced last week. Your partnership with us is invaluable, and together, we will continue to provide the best possible education for our students.

If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact your child's school or our district office. Stay healthy. Stay safe. Stay connected.

Respectfully,

Paula Deacon, Superintendent
