Hello Johnny Appleseed Families!
Please remember that this coming Wednesday, October 18th is an early release day - 11:30 dismissal. Our second graders will be enjoying a theater production of “Tilly the Trickster” on Thursday. Grade 5 students are working on creative ways to raise money for the Strong Little Souls organization that helps families dealing with childhood cancer. This is a very important organization that is close to our hearts as they currently support a JA Family. Soon, JA will also be involved in a holiday food drive. More information will be sent out in the coming weeks. You should be scheduling a Parent Teacher Conference (11/20 and 11/21) with your child’s teacher. This is the ONLY formal conference that we hold all year, so it is a great time to touch base and set your child up for success!
Attendance will be highlighted each week. Currently, JA has a 96% attendance rate. Staying above 95% is our goal, so great job everyone! Your collaboration with us on making sure your child(ren) gets to school is so important. Please reach out if you need any support.

Cafeteria Drop Off/Pick up: Parents, if you are planning to drop off in the front of the school (cafeteria), you MUST park at the church. The limited parking spaces are designated for staff and visitors who have school business. Also, please DO NOT park in the two designated handicap spots. They are marked with blue paint near the front and ONLY for people with handicap parking placards. We have parents/guardians who need this parking.
The lunch menu online is not accurate for the remainder of October, so I will continue to post the offerings here:

NEW PLAYGROUND NEWS: Beginning this week, demolition of the old playground and delivery of the new playground. Before you know it, we will have an awesome new, inclusive playground structure. Follow us on instagram to see progress! Don’t worry - our plan is to keep the dragon! This means the playground will be closed to the public as well.
