Hello Johnny Appleseed Families!
It has been another very productive week here at JA! I cannot believe we are approaching the end of October. Our students are engaged in their phonics, reading, writing, and math lessons. Ask your kiddos what they are learning about. If they say, “I don’t know…” ask for more information because there is a lot of learning happening! Grade 5 students are working on creative ways to raise money for the Strong Little Souls organization that helps families dealing with childhood cancer. This is a very important organization that is close to our hearts as they are currently supporting a JA Family. Hat Day information was sent in an email.
Soon, JA will also be involved in a holiday food drive. More information will be sent out in the coming weeks.
You should be scheduling a Parent Teacher Conference (11/20 and 11/21) with your child’s teacher. This is the ONLY formal conference that we hold all year, so it is a great time to touch base and set your child up for success!

FRONT PARKING LOT: This is NOT a park and drop off option. PLEASE park at the church and walk over or use Day Street for your drop off option, which is a drive and drop off option. There are a number of people driving fast through the front lot as well. Please be mindful of the staff, children, and visitors who may be in the lot.
NEW PLAYGROUND NEWS: The new fence has gone in and we are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the new playground. In the next couple of weeks, you will see the old playground being dismantled and the new playground going up. The students are VERY excited about all this! Let’s hope Mother Nature cooperates, so we can enjoy the playground before any snow flies!
