Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at JA!

Hello Johnny Appleseed Families!

Last week our students enjoyed our Read Aloud fair dedicated to “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”. There was fun competition between classes. The winner of the door contest was Mrs. Wilson’s 2nd grade class, followed by Mrs. Hathaway (D1) and Mrs. Smith (3B). The Wilson Warriors will be the first class to use the brand new playground! The staff also had a competition of their own - a sweet treats competition. Mrs. Pizzarelli in D1 won for her delicious s’mores cookies, followed by Mrs. Piccirillo, Mrs. Newman, and Mrs. Ford. It was a very fun day!

I want to remind families that Halloween costumes are not allowed in school on Halloween.

This week marks the end of the first quarter. Students will have progress reports for this term that are reviewed during parent teacher conferences along with other district assessment data. Make sure to schedule your conference time.

Grade 5 students are working on creative ways to raise money for the Strong Little Souls organization that helps families dealing with childhood cancer. This is a very important organization that is close to our hearts as they are currently supporting a JA Family. There will be a Hat Day on Friday, November 3rd. It is just $1 to participate.

Soon, JA will also be involved in a holiday food drive. A flyer will be coming home this week. This year, our food drive will support Ginny’s Food Pantry.

Attendance Matters: JA is still holding strong with a 96% attendance rate! Thank you for making your best effort to get your child(ren) to school! Being in school is the first step to making great strides both socially and academically!
