Johnny Appleseed Elementary

Sunday Message, Week of 5/20

Hello Johnny Appleseed Families,

Congratulations to all our Special Olympians! They had a fantastic day on Friday. Seeing the excitement on each of their faces reminds us all how important these moments are for our students! Thank you to Coach Pete for creating such a fun day for our students!

It is so nice that we are almost finished with state testing! We will have just a few make up tests this week and then we will wrap up MCAS! Congratulations to grade 4 who had PERFECT, 100% attendance on the 2 math testing days! WOW! Students will be taking their end of the year assessments as well. These tests help us look at student growth, achievement, and areas that need improvement. The students will do DIBELS and IReady Assessments this week and next.

Reminder: Miss Melissa, our Library/Media Specialist would like to remind all families that books will need to be returned by 5/31. The library book checkout system is closed for the year!

CAFETERIA DROP OFF/PICK UP: It is REQUIRED that you park at the church and walk across to the school. If you cannot do this, please utilize Day Street. I will be reaching out to specific families if need be.  Only people with handicap placards may park in the designated handicap spots.

DAY STREET: REMEMBER - NO LEFT TURNS into the Day Street entrance - there is a sign that indicates this and police plan to help enforce. We appreciate your help with this. Please use hazards when in the car line.

INSTAGRAM: If you want to see all the happenings at JA, follow our new instagram page: @JASCHOOL845

Attendance: Please make every effort to come to school. We are in the homestretch and we don’t want the students missing important academic skills!
