Hello LHS Students and Families!
The first day of school is right around the corner, Wednesday August 28. School starts at 7:30, but remember that over 2000 people are trying to get in the building at the same time so plan to get there a little earlier. If your student drives the earlier they arrive the more likely they can get a parking spot. We have a plan to build a new lot behind the school by spring but for now parking can be tight!
If your student does nothing else to get ready they should go into Aspen and print or take a picture of their schedule. This will help them out a lot in getting around the building. We hope they brush their teeth and all that, but get them to have their schedule!
If your student has an empty block in their schedule, contact Guidance to fill it or they can go to guidance during that period. If you have other requests for course changes we can work on them when school starts. Getting scheduled filled up and making sure Seniors have the courses they need to graduate is the priority.
We have supplies for your student, such as binders, folders, pens, etc. Whatever teachers told us students would need for their classes we have ordered.
Remember that dismissals have to happen with a note brought in the morning or you have to come in to the office. For safety we can't dismiss over the phone.
Bus routes are going to be posted to the website in the next few days. There is also an app you can use to track where the bus is through GPS at https://web.firstviewapp.com/login
School lunch is free for all students. There are optional things students can buy as well.
School pictures will be on Thursday the 29th so make sure they look sharp! Open House is on September 24th from 5:30 to 7:30.
We are excited to have your student coming to LHS (well as excited as we can be to have summer ending).
