What an incredible day we had at Johnny Appleseed on Friday, October 25th! The students celebrated the ending of the school wide read aloud with an incredible planned event! Pictures are posted on instagram.This week is a full week of school. I want to remind families that we do not celebrate Halloween at school. We will leave the celebration after school and for families that choose to do so. This means, no costumes and no candy please! Don’t forget picture retakes are on Friday, November 1st.
Food Drive - A flyer will be sent home with grade specific food item requests for our November Food Drive which will begin on 11/4. This food drive is to support Bright Eyed, Inc.
SAVE THE DATE: Virtual Coffee with the JA Admin Team! This is something new I am trying so families can feel up to date on all the happenings at JA. In an effort to reach a larger audience, this will be virtual. This will also allow families to set captions, so what we discuss can be translated from English to other home languages. This first meeting will be November 4th at 9:00 AM. Here is the agenda:

Attendance Matters: Wow JA! This week’s attendance is a positive 95% of students in attendance! That is great! Remember too that anytime your child is tardy, he/she is missing foundational learning skills like phonics, math, or reading. Let’s keep crushing the positive attendance rate!
Day Street: It has come to my attention that there are some additional safety concerns from Day Street. We have received reports of students who are hanging out of the sunroof and hanging out of passenger windows. Please keep safety at the forefront. There have been too many accidents and issues on Day Street and I would hate for any child to be harmed. Please remember to put on your hazard lights while in the car line as well.
